Holiday Insurance - Silly Question?

Getting my head round ms specific holiday insurance. My wife has RRMS - only diagnosed 12 months and has needed 3 steroid treatments to date. The major issue has been with her legs - she can walk unaided (but very slowly). Not sure what her limit is but we walk daily for about 15mins and shopping is not a problem apart from being over taken by 80 year olds! We are going to Europe for a holiday and the issue of insurance has come up. In reality I think the worst thing that could go wrong whilst away is a major relapse but I assume even with insurance one would not have steroids on hand. We are new to this MS game but learning - I just wondered what the general 'feel' was (if there is one with such an individual condition) re holiday insurance.

What country are you travelling to?

You can ask your neuro if he will give you some oral steroids to take with just in case. My dr is happy to do that for me as he knows how much I hate to take steroids and will only do so if totally neccesary!!

Spain. I have read the MS Insurance details on the MS Trust web site but when I ask myself if I really need it I'm not sure.

in my experience i did not qualify for pre-existing condition travel health insurance until i was considered stable for three months. then i could pay the $600 health insurance, and buy my ticket. i was going to australia, from canada, for 5 months.
