anyone experience numbness after being liberated

right after recovery the numbness in left leg was there and is not letting up. i had never had numbness before. i had noticed that after procedure hands and feet were warmer but now 8 days later left hand "which is my better side " got really cold and is staying cold with intermittant warming-kind of like turning an on and off switch. also a little numbness at times in that arm which i never had. i am trying to stay positive that my body has adjusting to do with this new blood flow. anyone else experience this? i am ppms and realize it is tougher but getting a new symtomn is not making me a happy camper just a concerned camper i am not even trying to discourage anyone because i would do it again. if anyone can comment on this please do.

**hugs** I hope you find answers, maybe a reballooning at follow-up, I don't know, I wish it were easier! If it started immediately after the procedure then it has to be associated with the procedure and with blood flow?

I can imagine all kinds of reasons that a nerve might be compressed during CCSVI treatment and how that might cause numbness.

I hope you are speaking to the surgeon who did your procedure about this who will know where intervention occurred and the likelihood that a nerve might have been compressed or some other things that might have happened that could cause numbness.

I also hope that you will keep us posted on how this develops. There certainly have been reports of nerves being compressed that made moving the arm and shoulder difficult, but which went away with time.

I think we will learn a lot more about all of this from reports of problems than glowing reports of success.

I have a numbness in my left leg that I have had before but not recently, I think is due to the procedure. I am assuming since there were changes that it's not all bad. I am getting scanned again to find out if I may have a re-stenosis issue... especially since I get vertigo more often but not as bad as before. The scan will be next week; if you thought it was weird to hope for issues the first time around, it is even weirder the second time!!

I am sorry for both of you. I experienced some significant vertigo shortly after the procedure as well. There is much to learn and I think we are going to find this is not the solution for all of us. Thanks for being honest and posting.

So true. It is interesting on this forum how we see posts of people anticipating their date of the procedure and then the date comes and we never hear anything again???? Sure makes one wonder about the outcome....

I have read at least two cases of people having numbness in the hand/arm post procedure here on TIMS. I wish you the best, I have had transverse myelitis and leg numbness is extremely annoying.

I only wonder if the side effects of the procedure are as benign as we have believed until now...

Hi blossom,

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, pretty blossom. Numbness isn't fun, I know, but it can remit, which is what my prayers for you will be about... good-bye numbness!

All my best,
~Pam

Hi,

I had numbness in my right hand starting the minute I left operating room. I was liberated on April 26 and the numbness is still with me. In the meantime, during those 4 months I had numb legs, numb toes, numb torso. When legs numbness goes away the torso starts and so on... Each month something new. I am definitely worse than before procedure but according to Dr Simka I did not restenosed.

Tomorrow I will have diagnostic tests in another clinic here in Poland - second opinion.

interesting all these different responses but scarey too. it just reminds me of bad wireing or bad plumbing in a house. if they miss one little bare wire or one little drip it can sure do a lot of damage. let's hope that we have the master plumbers and electricians figureing this all out as i post. i feel we have the best of the best we just have to figure a way to clone them to get this really rolling.

I was liberated on last wk of Feb, my right IJV was stented (60 * 10mm) just below the ear, for last two I'm having weakness, stiffness in right hand from shoulder to palm.. Not sure what is causing this ?? is this be MS or due to stent, Anyone have any idea, pls advise.. (One of my MS friend mentioned that it could be... due to acc nerve getting affected by size and location of stent). What could be option I have..
