6 Months In

Post by marcopolo »

My naturopath has chosen to adopt a slower approach to the Wheldon protocol. I just concluded my first flagyl pulse which was only for one day. The intention is to add one day every month until I reach 5 days at the end of Sept. The only symptoms over and above the norm prior to starting is more burning in both feet. There also bluer than they were before. Dizziness and major fatigue. My question is for those of you who have completed the protocol. Have your symptoms disappeared or are they diminished? Thanking you in advance for any replies.

I don't know if you would say I have "completed" the protocol, however I did follow the protocol for 12 months, and it did not work for me, so my MS had actually progressed.

Marco,
I only heard about Anecdote's case that seems a real recovery. There are two or three people here who claim some improvements, but to my knowledge no neuro verified them. As you know with MS there are ups and downs, so without neuro it is hard to say if someone's improvements are real for ever and not just the general course of the disease. Also, certain abx has an immunmodulatory effect, so some improvements can be attributed to this. I would recommend you to contact Vanderbilt as they are the only ones who treat more people and therefore can draw conclusions. As far as I know their results are pretty mixed. Some cases with improvements and many without it. There baseline criteria is to have a positive blood test for Cpn. Before taking any medications, you should contact the appropriate doctor and not rely solely on forums like this where people without proper knowledge and names say recklessly whatever they want. If your have a problem with your car, you go to a mechanic and not ask for advice from hair stylist. :)

Hello Marco,

Gogo who seems to know more about me than I do myself! Maybe I will get worse again but ten years of solid improvement after twenty years of getting worse, I'll risk it.

My symptoms are greatly diminished: my paralyzed right arm is now working: I don't need a neurologist to verify that! I can't run, though and I used to be a county class cross country runner.

You are taking it right, keep at it!

Sarah
An Itinerary in Light and Shadow Completed Dr Charles Stratton / Dr David Wheldon abx regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years. Still improving with no relapses since starting. Can't run but can paint all day.

I have just seen this as I have been away camping as I am so much better. I finished the Wheldon protocol a couple of years ago now and I'm still continuing to improve. The treatment saved my life I believe - I was deteriorating fast before starting and was heading towards SPMS. I always suspected I had a chronic infection as I felt slightly feverish much of the time -this has gone away now.

Good luck with your treatment.

Agatha
