Hi friends

I am new to this site, but not to MS!

I found an interesting treatment - Interstim Therapy - which is a Sacral Nerve Stimulation. I have suffered for years with an over active bladder/urge incontinence all the options - Aka urge to accident in 3.5 seconds. Over the years I have tried many different drugs - not sure if anything works - I have lost all dignaty, walked through shopping centers/ workplace etc with a wet patch down my legs.

A visit to a new specialist urologist has told me abou this treatment - tomorrow I start with tests to see if I am a suitable candidate.

My problem is... I have seen good testimonials - but none from MSers.

Please - before I go through all these embarasing tests - any info welcome!

Did Interstim work for you?

I have been getting bladder Botox injections every 4-6 months for the last 7 years. I understand Interstim can also help with bowel incontinence, also a problem for me.

I am looking for alternatives. I also take 50mg Myrbetriq twice a day.

I am scheduled tomorrow to start neural sacral modulation therapy with the Axonics device.

Has anyone else tried this?

Botox bladder injections are losing their usefulness. I now need them every 3 months or so.

I have now completed the Axonics sacral neuromodulation trial and am experiencing both bladder and bowel benefits. Right now the battery that provides the electrical stimulation to my sacral nerve is taped externally to my back side. I'm scheduled to have the battery surgically implanted next week.

I discontinued taking myrbetriq about three weeks ago, and hope to never need to restart it.

I still self-cath to empty my bladder, but hope this will change over the next several months as the Botox completely wears off.

The intensity of the Axonics device is under my control via a hand held controller that looks like a key fob.

This device is not FDA approved for neurogenic bladder/bowel issues, but I am experiencing a benefit.
