Hello, hoping someone can offer any advice regarding my current situation.
A little over 2 years ago I developed an unusual case of repetitive strain injury in both hands, arms and shoulders after working in a physically demanding job. For about 6 months I had constant throbbing pain and burning and extremely tight/spasmy muscles, especially in my thumbs/forefingers and wrists, that was so bad I couldn't even brush my hair without severe pain. Fast forward another year and a half and it gradually got better over time (massage certainly helped), but I still get pain from time to time (massage doesn't help so much anymore), and also get almost daily paresthesia symptoms - these are what concern me the most.
Occasionally throughout the day (although some days I won't have it at all) I get either very specific tingling or buzzing in either of my fingers or thumb (but predominantly those fed by the median nerve, but lately my pinky as well) and fingertip numbness. Strength is never affected. When I started breastfeeding my baby 5 months ago I also developed a bizarre symptom where my fingers tingle when I brush them against something or touch something, but only lasts a little while after I've finished feeding her - this symptom also appears when I feel anxious and will occur randomly. I often get shoulder/neck pain when I have this, so I've always assumed it was related to tight muscles. Another symptom I have been experiencing recently is a strange tingling/throbbing behind my front teeth (could be related to grinding my teeth but I thought I'd mention it). I get headaches easily. My feet tingle too, but only when I sit. Sometimes I wake up with numbness or tingling in my hands, and occasionally get tingling in my face.
I've had nerve conduction studies done to rule out carpal tunnel syndrome; my nerves were normal. I've had a neck MRI that was fine, other than some loss of the curve which could be related to posture or muscle spasm. I did have a level of 308 for B12 but I've treated that and it's over 900 now, no reduction of the above. Folate good. I've experienced long-term anxiety, quite severe at times.
I think it's time I saw a neurologist but I never thought the symptoms I've experienced felt like something very serious, but the fact that they don't look like they're going to go away worries me.
Any thoughts?
Are these potentially MS symptoms?
