I'm a 37 yo Hispanic male with a confirmed history of transverse myelitis (dx by MRI with contrast in 2004 with lesion at c5-c7 level). I took a MRI without contrast on July 11th 2014. I don't have the report in from of me, so I'll have to paraphrase from memory. I think I saw a T1 and Flair somewhere on the report regarding the type of MRI used, but like I said before, no contrast. The findings said something similar to prominent lateral ventricles for age suggests diffuse white matter volume loss of unknown etiology. There was also mention of a benign arachnoid cyst. Could this be MS? Thank you for your time!

Welcome to ThisIsMS, Daniel (dpcorona).
To answer your question… Yes, it
could be MS. But MS is a diagnosis of exclusion and there are many likely conditions to be ruled out
first.
