Need for The Coimbra Protocol Thread

Just one of dozens of health conditions linked to Vitamin D deficiency/metabolism issues.

https://www.vitamindcouncil.org/health-conditions/

Prof. Coimbra & Co. have apparently been successfully treating thousands of those afflicted with autoimmune conditions including MS.

http://www.vitamindandms.org/researcher ... index.html

People on this forum and their own blogs have outlined their success with high dose vit D using Dr. Coimbra's protocol.

http://www.thisisms.com/forum/natural-a ... 23976.html

http://mscure.aussieblogs.com.au/
(I have exchanged emails with this individual who experienced complete recovery over 14 months. They had RRMS for 15 years.) this individual was a patient of Coimbra himself.

Dr. Coimbra feels that it is unethical to undertake a clinical trial and I believe this is why his treatment has not gained attention/acceptance outside Brazil. His 1.5 hr video available in the above link is quite explicit.

Having started the Coimbra protocol myself I have experienced some benefits in the 4 wks. since starting. I've had bloodwork done on Sept 5 and will have blood drawn again in mid-Oct to see how I'm tolerating hi dosing vitD.

I'm a CCSVI veteran and I'm starting to feel that endolethial dysfunction and VitD are linked as Cheer has suggested. Perhaps high-dosing D can reverse CCSVI over time?
My syllogism:

A. If ALL people with MS unequivocally have CCSVI (Dr. Sclafani)

B. Prof. Cicero Coimbra (Brazil) is CURING hundreds (I believe 900 is the number mentioned) of people with High Dose vitamin D as he suggests that pwMS have difficulty metabolizing D.

C. Endolethial Dysfunction/CCSVI must be caused by an inability to metabolize D.

We need to start a Thread in TREATMENTS called THE COIMBRA PROTOCOL

Pardon me for not watching the 1.5h video, but could you expand on Dr. Coimbra's feeling of the "unethical" side of undertaking a clinical trial?

I'm not saying I agree Cure but I believe that believing he has a cure Coimbra believes that withholding treatment presumably in the form of a placebo group, is unethical. He could do a cross-over trial in which everyone gets treated.

There was no double blind trial for CCSVI but that did not prevent its acceptance by pwMS.

To me personally, it's ironic and more unethical to promote that he "knows" he has a cure, when in fact he only "thinks" he has a cure, with no scientific validation.

One can still be treating many many patients while a double-blind trial is in progress. Additionally, simply recruit people for all legs of the trial who are NOT planning on doing the protocol, and you have actually "forced" a bunch of people to be "cured" (ie the non-placebo arm), while the placebo arm are not any worse off than what they would of been. I am sure they could of and have thought of this themselves, but may be a little hesitant.

Hi everyone,

I wrote below some links of videos, articles and a worldwide list of doctors about Coimbra's approach.

About the scientific evidences. There are a lot of studies that support it. But not a specific study with this protocol.

However, Dr. Michael Holick, he is a renowned american doctor pioneer with the studies of Vitamin D and author of a important book on this subject. He also helped Dr. Coimbra improve the Protocol. He is collecting all the data of brazilians patients. I guess that in the near future we will have a scientific study about it.

He collected the data of my brother here in Brazil. And they are trying to make the Vitamin D protocol (Coimbra's Protocol) the standard treatment for all autoimmune diseases. As it works so well and much better than normal drugs.

If you want check a brief description about this treatment: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/regimens- ... 27128.html

Videos with English Subtitles:

-There is a short documentary developed in Brazil talking about this treatment. It has English subtitles.

-This is a interview with Dr. Coimbra made by and Italian doctor Leonardo Rubini. There are Italian and English subtitles. Link:

I just pm'd NHE to ask him if we could set up a thread within Treatments. Perhaps someone could invite Professor Coimbra to open up our new thread?
