Questions about supplements

Hello all. I have a few questions about supplements that I'm hoping maybe someone could shed some light on.

Here is a list of supplements im currently on

Vitamin D 3 4800IU per day (vitamin D blood level at 96 n/mol as of 2 months ago) is 4800 enough?
Vitamin B Complex
Multi-Vitamin
Uniquinol-QH ( CoQ10) http://www.pureencapsulations.com/ubiqu ... 100mg.html
Omega 3

My question is, should i be taking any other supplements that could I benefit from?

Vitamin K2?

Nitric Oxide? - ( more specifically this one http://www.pureencapsulations.com/nitri ... -162g.html ) I've read both negative and positive things about this from a MS stand point. Your thoughts?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Chris

The big news this week is that massive doses of biotin (vitamin b7) can possibly stop or even reverse MS damage. Here's a news release.

Biotin (the d-biotin form is claimed to be the best) can readily be obtained, and is quite inexpensive.

Taking vitamin B supplements before testing will skew test results and make them unreliable for determining a deficiency.

Also, B Complex generally contains folic acid. If a person has a B12 deficiency, taking folic acid will mask it. Folic acid will correct the anemia that often accompanies a B12 deficiency; however, the folic acid will not improve the neurologic problems – in fact, folic acid may worsen neurologic problems.

You have many, many choices and can take as many or as few as you feel comfortable with. Do your homework and then decide which ones you feel would be beneficial for you. I take over 30 supplements and will be adding Biotin (Vitamin H).

Hi Chris--
Sounds like you're doing fine in the vit. D area--only comment would be to make sure you get UV rays, too and don't just rely on pills.

My husband gets most of his nutrition from food--but he supplements with omega 3, ECGC, curcumin, silymarin, a probiotic, and vitamin D.
Keep reading and learning. Lots of information out there. I still agree with Dr. Terry Wahls that it's best to get as much as you can from food, rather than supplements.
Here's the program I put together for my husband in 2008, with links to research. ( I discuss the connection of health to nitric oxide, which I didn't recommend as a supplement, but NO is something to be aware of, as it is the hallmark of a healthy cardio and neurovascular system.) He's had no MS progression or further relapses, but he changed his whole life around, as well as his food.
