Possible Diagnosis of MS - I'm scared!!

They found white spots on my brain with MRI. My spinal tap showed protein level at 22 but I had 2 oligoclonal bands. I have had blurry vision that comes and goes for about 3-4 months. My left hand and arm is starting to feel sort of numb at times, but not all of the time. I have not had any probelm walking or have tingling in my legs or feet. My Neurologist seems to think that he is no more thinking that I have it any more than not. He is confused of my spinal test results.

I was having very extreme sudden severe headaches with weakness that only lasted for about 3 minutes (about 5 episodes) that took me to the doctor in the first place. They wanted to rule out aneurysum or brain bleed.

Anybody have any of these initial symtoms at the early time of their diagnosis?

Any info is appreciated!!

Thanks.

Why is he confused about your spinal tap results?

What else have they checked for as the explanation to all your symptoms? What have they ruled out?

Do you have any family history of MS ?

No protein showing in spinal fluid but 2 oligoclonal bands were found. I've had blurry vision. But headaches took me to the doctor in the first place. Then they found the lesions and the MRI had notes that it could be MS. Some tingly sensation in fingers and arm but not alot.

I wouldn't be scared. MS doesn't kill you. Your symptoms don't sound too bad so far. Continue to exercise and keep the circulation going in your extremities. Hopefully your physician will put you on a medication to prevent relapse or any other continuing symptoms.

Good luck!
