Anybody else wake up with weird buzzing/noises in head?

I was diagnosed 16 years ago (am now 65), after attacks in '78, '90' and '99. First 2 attacks occurred after strenuous physical activity (volleyball). Was told likely MS in '99, due to some plaque in brain, and a slightly slow evoked-response test - that checkerboard visual thing. First 3 attacks came on with a sudden urge to empty my bowels, followed by instant fatigue, tingling extremities that didn't go away for several months, and general feeling of un-wellness. After few symptoms the past 16 years (took small prednasone regimen for a week a few times) stuff has come on differently this time, and at present the main feature is, after falling asleep some nights, I am awakened with a weird "buzzing", utterly unpleasant sensation in my head, along with... I almost said ringing in my ears - but its more a ringing in my brain! I sort of can "feel my face" - it's not numb exactly. Has anyone out there had/know of similar symptoms? I've had this creepy sleep thing with each attack - one doctor pretty much told me I was nuts! Best of luck to all of you!

Hi,

You are not nuts but I don't like the sound of your doctor. Treating patients like that is a sign he is at the operating beyond his sphere of comfort. Look for someone else.

Regards,

Would this be tinnitus?.........or possibly the aftereffects of an ACDC concert :?

Yes!! I have had exactly the same buzzing experience--I describe it as a motor idling in my brain when I wake up at night. Have you found out any information? Tecfidera or just a symptom of MS?

Hi,

I don't think it's MS. It's a common occurrence and I have it to. It would be interesting to see the correlation (if any) between blood pressure and this.
