Hello everyone,
My name is T and this is my 1st post. I don't know where to begin. I started having symptoms a few months ago that I couldn't just ignore anymore. I've always suffered with migraines and then I started experiencing pain and numbness in my hands a feet as well as my face. Then my knees started to ache. I went to the dr who scheduled me an MRI and results came back that they saw lesions on my brain, so they scheduled me to have a spinal tap. After the spinal tap, i was in the worse pain of my life. My neck became stiff and i was in so much pain from my head down. I couldn't sit up or stand for long or the pain would come back. I would have to lay down. The results came back that I had MS but needed to see the neurologist to confirm. I have been waiting for that appointment since October and my appointment is the end of next month. I wanted to know if anyone else went through that and if the spinal tap says i'm positive how likely will the neurologist findings say the same thing? Thank you all in advance for the input!!

Welcome to ThisIsMS. The spinal tap results are not specific to MS. It's possible to show oligoclonal bands in the spinal tap due to other conditions. This just means that there's inflammation in the central nervous system, but it does not specify a cause.

Thank you for that information. I'm a little relieved!
