Are there any good drugs for dizziness out there? My husband has PPMS and the dizziness has become debilitating. He was prescribed betahistine but it doesn't really help at all. A little background…he was diagnosed in 2009, went to Poland for CCSVI in 2010 and had a couple of good years with little progression. Things have really been declining in the cognitive area now, so hoping there might be some medication out there for the symptoms. Dizziness is by far the worst of his symptoms. For a month or two St. John's Wort really seemed to help, but he may have built up a tolerance to it cause benefits seemed to diminish over time. Also, is there a place in the forum for those with PPMS? Can't seem to find it. Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't know of anything specially for PPMS but there should be something. You share symptoms with a lot of us. Dizziness has never left me. There should be a tongue device like those approved for blindness, with an acclerometer-type sensor, but there isn't. A similar device was used to treat a woman with vestibular balance problems.

Sad, isn't it, that powers-that-be could give the go-ahead for some people to have two good years or more of improvement, but because they just have meanness in their hearts, won't do it? You have to pity them.

There is dizziness and dizziness. It can be non-dangerous such as being dizzy when sitting or lying down, or dangerous, such as when you are walking. Dr. Zamboni's new research shows that people with MS take some number of seconds, immediately after changing postures, such as sitting up and lying down, before the bloodflow to and from the brain has a chance to settle into the new posture. This is because of changes in the morphology of veins, which affect specifically people with MS. Because this particular dizziness can be the dangerous kind, it might be a good idea to implement my personal policy of not doing anything for 10 seconds after I stand up.
