A compound derived from marijuana plants, cannabidiol oil, is showing promise for treating intractable seizures.

Researchers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham are presenting preliminary results from their research. So far, 51 subjects have participated in the trials. Approximately half had significantly fewer seizures over the span of six months. Two patients had no seizures while taking cannabidiol oil, but nine people dropped out of the study because of side effects.

I have been using CBD oil for about 6 months and it is definitely helping me deal with MS nerve pain. Should you decide to try/use CBD oil, do research to assure you are getting a high quality product. The industry is unregulated and there are many products on the market that do not necessarily have the CBD content advertised and could have contaminants which can be harmful to your health.

CBD oil has none of the side effects inherent in cannabis and there is no 'high' from it, so it is really safe to use.
