So I went for my EMG. It wasn't comfortable but not bad. Afterwards, he said it was normal and didn't detect and nerve damage ( I guess that was redundant lol) but anyway.... What does that mean other than the obvious?

Well, it means only that you don't have peripheral nerve damage, since EMGs are only tests of your peripheral nerves, to rule that out as a cause of your symptoms. MS is a disease of the Central Nervous System (CNS) -- the brain & spinal cord. All the other nerves in your body are part of the PNS or Peripheral Nervous System.

Sadly, there is no single test to diagnose MS, but it's mainly a long process of ruling out everything else -- usually. So, although EMGs are often part of the overall testing process for MS, it's not an MS test at all, but a PNS test. In my case I have peripheral nerve damage (HNPP) as well as MS. I tested positive for everything.

I'm glad the tests were "not bad" for you. I've had to go through some extremely loooong days of peripheral nerve testing of all types in the past. Sometimes for hours & hours.

Hours and hours would be rough! Mine was pretty short....in fact I question the thoroughness a little. Thanks for the reply. Next is a spinal MRI so I will just be waiting lol.
