Hi

Do these symptoms sound familiar to MS or is it just age..

I am 49 year woman relativity fit I have put some weight on this last year trying to lose it , I work 8 hour shifts in a department store.
Two weeks ago I felt like ,a virus or a stroke or something hit me lightening bolt, something like that, can't describe it , left knee pain ,numbness in my left arm .I had fatigue, tiredness .My left side of face painful felt like a tooth abscess and the headache form hell no pain killers could touch it. I get out of bed in the morning I cannot walk-on the soles of my feet even rest days from work, my face look liked it drop slightly on the right side.
My Doctor has referred me to a Neurologist but not said anything yet see noticed that my eye was flickering she asked if I aware of it I've not notice.
I'm off work at the moment I'm so exhausted left side arm finger and toes are numb and feels like buzzing in my left foot ??
My bloods have come back " Normal"
9th November for neurologist and a dental check next week to rule out tooth abscess
Just wanted know anyone has these symptoms.
Thank you xx

Welcome to ThisIsMS, myfairlady.

Your symptoms are common to many conditions, which must be ruled out first before the MS diagnosis can be considered.

You have said, "My bloods have come back 'Normal' –What tests were done? What numbers were considered to be "normal"? Since nutrient levels are frequently low in people with MS, I wonder if these nutrient tests were done. What was the actual test result number for your vitamin D blood test? Your vitamin B12 testing? A magnesium test? Any others. If you do not have these numbers, perhaps you can contact your doctor's office and request your own copy of the results.

I was diagnosed with MS in my 40s, when the vitamin D blood test was not yet available to the average physician. In January, a vitamin D test (the "25-hydroxy D") found my level was low (24 ng/mL).

Getting over my symptoms it been a long hard month I would say I'm about 75% ok I just wait till the 10th November at the Neurologist ...

Best regards

Hi,

So in two weeks all that hit you and now you are 75% right. Did you notice any rashes over the last month?

Hi,

To me this doesn't sound like typical MS. You have joint pain, swollen gums, some itching, some sharp pain, numbness and pain down one side and what sounds like some palsy on one side of your face. Slowly, you're getting better.

Did you get checked for a potential toxin? e.g. a spider bite or similar. There's a vast array of things that can cause those symptoms.

Regards,
