Could this be MS??

2 years ago I started seeing dots for fifteen to 30 minutes. Along with it came confusion. These happened 3 or 4 times a year for 2 years. The neurologist diagnosed me with ocular migraines a month ago, after having a 2 week long episode of these "migraines" with worsening symptoms. Last month I had difficulty speaking, vertigo, confusion, fatigue, joint pain, and neck pain. These lasted 2 weeks, 3 of the days to where I was in bed for 3 days straight basically sleeping the whole time or laying there miserably. It went away, I seen the neurologist and we tried imitrax. It didn't work so we tried rizatriptan. It doesn't work either. Now, foot is crampy with some numbness and tingling and my right hand and arm is also, as if they're falling asleep. My vertebrae shoes reversal from muscle spasm. Last night My chest was heavy and it was hard to breathe as if my chest was caving in. I was wondering if this sounds like MS to anybody?

Welcome to ThisIsMS. Have you seen your doctor recently since your symptoms have progressed?

Thank you. I seen my neurologist for the first time last month. I told him about the seeing dots, heavy leg, confusion and neck pain. I called them and they changed my medicine. They're using migraine treatment, rizatriptan. It's not working. Before that, they used imitrax. I called up there to tell them about the joint pain, and continuous "migraines." The nurse won't be able to call back until tomorrow. I forgot to mention that the room always looks like it is spinning. I want answers. My anxiety is crazy, my appetite is less, and I am just so tired. It is to the point they think I am a hypochondriac.

Welcome to ThisIsMS, Whatcoulditbe.

Other than your username (Whatcoulditbe) and the question in your first line, you have not asked for general opinions, but I hope you are open to a few of mine.

Your symptoms are common to many conditions, one of which is nutrient deficiency. Magnesium deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, and even vitamin D deficiency can result in symptoms such as you describe. Ask your doctor for the simple blood tests to rule out these possible causes.

If you have not had the vitamin D blood test called "25-hydroxy D," ask your GP for it (or ask your neurologist… Any doctor can order these tests. Even ask the nurse when she calls back tomorrow ). Also, ask for your own copy of the test results so that you have the actual numbers.

Thank you. They have tested for deficiencies and have found none.

it matters which ones have been looked for, and they have a tendency to 'rule out' deficiencies as long as your levels are within a sometimes pitiful 'normal' reference range. if you care to share specifics we can help you evaluate.
