Hi, I 've joined a Facebook group which is about a device that can help MSer regarding balance, posture, energy saving...

" This group was created to discuss and report on the TAOPATCH device for those of us with Multiple Sclerosis. Any other topics will be deleted.

The TAOPATCH USA website is located at....
https://www.taopatch.co

The TAOPATCH main page in Italy is located at...
www.taopatch.com
"

I will have a look later and provide more details about it.

I've already noticed it's a non-invasive device
There are a lot of positive feedbacks from MSers (in opposite to the pons where there was 0 positive feedbacks from MSers)
The price seems to be around 250 USD

OK,
In addition to the web site, here is a video explaining what the device is about:

WARNING!!!!!!!
The last time I saw amazing videos like that, I was fooled by the PoNS device and I lost A LOT of money!

So, when I see videos like that, I get dubious....

From the Taopatch FAQ page, https://www.taopatch.co/faq ...
How does Taopatch work?
Taopatch is attached to specific points on your body (we’ll provide you with instructions) with regular skin tape or custom hypoallergenic adhesives we provide. The heat of your body is converted into light of specific therapeutic frequencies, which are similar to the frequencies of photons your nerve cells use to communicate. This patented technology is licensed as a Class 1 medical device in Europe.
Really? Neurons use photons to communicate? Why haven't any of my biology textbooks mentioned this? For example, Kandle and Schwartz, Principles of Neuroscience, 5th Edition.

I will wait a bit and keep reading posts on Facebook

I agree this could be another scam, but who knows. There are several positive reviews, so I'll keep my eye on this.

Amazon France doesn't supply this product.
Amazon UK does...but it can not be shipped to France
I found it on Amazon Germany...and it costs USD 450.
I can't find it in other places...

I had a talk over the phone with a practitioner, in France.
He is "Taopatch certified" (that's what is written on his website)
He told me he had some stocks
He is supposed to contact me back after the WE to give me more details.

I will listen to him, but I don't think his price will be lower than USD200.
That's my limit...

Hey NHE,
thks for the feedback!
I wasn't commenting on whether or not the device is actually helpful, just that the company's explanation seems fictitious.

Here's an explanation of synaptic signal transduction that's a little closer to reality.

I'm also not saying that light can't have a physiological effect. It can. Blue light can inhibit melatonin release. We have evolved on a planet with blue skies during daylight hours. This is perfectly rational.

Green light can inhibit pain. Chlorophyll reflects green light. Plants thus appear green. Being out in the woods surrounded by greenery makes us feel better. Again, this is reasonable. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=31289

Laser light can have physiological effects. One day I was playing around with my laser pointer. To be funny, I shined it up my nose to make it glow red like Rudolph. The experience became uncomfortable after a few seconds and I stopped. Laser therapy to treat chronic pain is often used. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/318960

There is also light therapy for seasonal affective disorder.

Light can affect us. The company's explanation still seems fictitious though.

I have been using Taopatch since early July 2020 and I absolutely love them, so glad I decided to give them a try after reading other people's success with them. I was dubious but I am willing to try anything and in the scheme of things they aren't that expensive. I set my expectations low and I followed the guidance properly (you will be surprised at how many people give up but haven't followed the instructions properly) and I have seen fantastic results so far. My biggest improvement is the reduction of spasticity in my knee (my osteopath who I've been seeing for years is truly amazed) and now my ankle is starting to loosen too. I am currently repeating the month 2 & month 3 detoxes as they recommend doing that twice a year. I have days when I feel worse but that always comes after 2-3 really good weeks and I know it's my brain processing all the changes within my body (as Trevor Wicken teaches us in The MS Gym). Taopatch is not a cure but it has made a massive difference to my life. I use them in conjunction with daily MS Gym exercises, avoiding gluten, dairy & processed sugar and foods, supplements and a positive outlook on life. Everything combined works for me but Taopatch has definitely accelerated things in the right direction. I wouldn't be without them. I've put my journey into my blog in a bid to help others https://lifewithms.wixsite.com/mymsjourney and will happily answer any questions :-)

The Italian Topatch site appears to be promoting the Taopatch for boosting the immune system against the coronavirus. This seems unethical.
