Dealing with wildfire smoke

There are lots of wildfires on the West Coast. These have filled the air with smoke and toxic particulate matter. In some cites, such as Portland, OR, the pollution levels are off the charts on the EPA's scales. Here's how to make an inexpensive and effective air filter from a 20" box fan and a furnace air filter.
