when it rains...

it pours and then some.

more than a month ago, my symptoms - fatigue, numbness a few others started to intesify but still manageable.

please forgive any spelling errors - this message was written with the right-hand hunt n' peck method ;-)

a week ago i was treated for UTI symptoms...

this monday i called my neuro to give him an update, and he told me to come see him on thursday (yest.) when a neuro. can see you that quickly, you know that's not good

so the next day, this tuesday aft., i was in the backyard and i fell down and hurt my right ankle. afew docs and xrays later i was told that i should keep it elevated and make an appt. for a Orthopaedist.

i saw a couple of docs yesterday, thurs.. one is a Orthopaedist and said that the ankle has a fracture, not as bad as we thought. yea, no surgery! had a nightmare about that.

i'll be wearing a 'moon boot' for about 4 weeks, and am using a walker. then get x-rays again to make sure it is healing correctly.

Also saw my neurologist, and will be starting more aggressive MS treatment next week. IV steroids. he also wants some new mri-scans. i'm losing more coordination and feeling/numbness in my left side. which is why i cant write with my left hand. south paws are special ;-)

im very fortunate that my husband was able to take a couple of days off from work to take me to the appts. and to keep me company!

I am sorry about your bad luck. It does seem that when it rains it pours. I, too, seem to be having a run of bad luck this year with one thing after another. I just keep thinking that 2007 is going to be MY year. Maybe it will be your year too. I hope you are feeling better soon.

hi Niko I spent a couple days in the hospital for the IV steroids thing. Steroids really seem to help i wish you could be on them all the time..

Hope the steroids give you some relief. Remember to get some good physio when your ankle starts to heal.

A bright side? You'll get to read lots while your laid up :?
