Carbohydrate and lipid metabolism in multiple sclerosis: Clinical implications for etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a ... WNvXk5Q7S0
Highlights
• Various abnormalities in the metabolic pathway of carbohydrates such as glycolysis, TCA, ETC, PPP, and glycogen metabolism may contribute to the etiology and pathogenesis of MS.
• The same is true for lipid metabolic pathways such as FAO, KBs, eicosanoids, lipoproteins, and cholesterol.
• The altered levels of components of carbohydrates/lipids metabolism in MS patients can be utilized in for diagnosis, prognosis, and discovering the therapeutic targets.
