Disassociation
Disassociation
My wife is complaining of a situation where she sees her hand but it doesn't register to her brain that she is moving it. It is almost like a disconnect. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Re: Disassociation
Hi,
Is her hand doing what she asks it to do or is it 'going on a frolic of its own'?
If it is just the sensation but the motor function seems fine, then I would do a lot of simple hand exercises to find a way of relearning how it feels to use the hand. This can be anything (squeezing a soft ball, playing a scale of a piano, throwing a ball in the air and trying to catch it, bounce a ball etc).
Or, is it doing something she doesn't control?
Regards,
