New search engine: Cuil

For lack of a better spot to post this, I put this here: This week I heard about this new search engine created by three former Google employees. It is www.cuil.com and is self-described as having 3 times more than Google. Also,
We believe that analyzing the Web rather than our users is a more useful approach, so we don’t collect data about you and your habits, lest we are tempted to peek. With Cuil, your search history is always private.

Cuil is an old Irish word for knowledge. For knowledge, ask Cuil.
Although you are all so good at researching topics, maybe this can be an additional tool at times.

That looks very useful. Thanks for letting us know about Cuil for searching.

It looks intriguing and might have promise as it develops. However, I just ran a search on Cuil and compared it to Google. For the search terms < "cancer magister" proprioception > Cuil finds no hits while Google brings up 124. Perhaps this search is too specialized for Cuil's first days in the wild.

I heard about it today, and found that when I clicked on a link, it had an error.

I did like the fact it used a black background (see www.blackle.com)

Every time I have tried to use this site, the matches are few and very poor. I am not ready to trade it in for Google yet.
