Hi
Im i was diagnosed with ms last week. Im really shocked and upset and i am just looking for advice and information as i dont know much about ms.
The sight in my left i suddenly went blurry which is how i was sent for an mri scan which detected the ms. Just wondering if other people have had the same symptoms and if the sight came back!!!

hi mb, it's a really crappy time right after the dx. sorry u are dealing with this right now. your vision issues could well be optic neuritis which is a presenting symptom in many cases of ms.
the vision usually does return to at least some degree, especially if you have relapsing remitting ms.
to give your eyes the best support for speedy recovery from this dx attack, you can consider starting to take 50mg per day of zinc.
this is just one of many nutrition strategies you can employ in the fight against ms.
there's lots of info here at TIMS that you can use to take some control now and be doing something while you wait for the docs to figure out their angle.
it is a good idea to get your zinc tested, if it's feasible for you and the docs are amenable. the normal range for zinc is 11.5-18.5. healthy controls are tightly clustered around the value 18 and ms patients average around the low-mid teens.

Welcome to ThisIsMS. I think that you'll find that many of the folks here have shared a similar experience and are willing to offer their support.
My own experience: I had optic neuritis in one eye in 1999. It's one of the two symptoms that led to my diagnosis. The other symptom I had was numbness in one of my legs. The doctors did an MRI and found active lesions. I was given IV prednisone infusions over a period of a few days. This tends to shorten the duration of an attack but doesn't tend to affect the long-term outcome of MS. My vision started to return after a few days and was clear again after about a week or two. However, I found that it was still sensitive to heat for about the first 6 months to a year afterwards. Specifically, I found that taking a hot shower would cause my vision to temporarily fade out for a short time period, e.g., 10-15 minutes. After about a year my vision was no longer sensitive to heat and I can now take hot showers without any problem.
I realize that loosing your vision is a scary and disturbing occurrence. I still get annoyed when my glasses fog over from steam when I open up the dishwasher. However, with treatment, your vision may likely come back just fine though it can take some time for it to be fully restored. Did your doctors prescribe IV prednisone treatment? It may be helpful for you to shorten your current attack and reduce the likelihood of sustaining damage to your optic nerve.
By the way, in addition to the zinc that Jimmylegs suggested, you may also want to try omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil supplements. These are good for both the eyes and the brain and are also anti-inflammatory.
