Phoenix Area Neuros

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted too much here, I have just been lurking. I have been a patient at Barrows since 2003 (dx in 2002). They are now in the process of bringing in another new Neurologist to run the MS Clinic there. Getting introduced to another (this will by my 4th there, 5th overall) Neurologist isn't really something I want to do every other year. Not to mention that they called and told me my January appointment would need to get pushed back until May.

I am looking for referrals to a good Neuro in Phoenix (I would prefer North Phx or No. Scottsdale). I have heard a lot about the Mayo Clinic, and would love to hear what everyone's personal experiences have been.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey Grant,
I didn't know about the changes. I see Dr. Bomprezzi over there and I really like him. There was another post a couple or few weeks ago where the author said they had just found a great neuro in our area. I cannot find it for you though, ugggh. If I have any brainstorms and can find that post I will let you know.
Take care!

I was originally seeing a Dr (whose name escapes me) at Barrows, but after the first visit, I always met with his PA. He left to move to Colorado, and Dr Campanella (sp?) took over for him. She did a good job, but she is moving to the VA hospital. It seems like Barrows is a stepping stone to another job.

I am going to see if I can get into the Mayo Clinic, it is a lot closer to where I live and they have a good rep.

Thanks for the info

I am being seen by Dr. Mark Winograd. His office is next to banner tbird. I have been really happy with his treatment. he is very thorough and checks every symptom you may have and tries to help with them.

Hi Grant,

Was it Dr. Vollmer who moved on you? I know Barrows was very excited to get him, but he sure didn't stay long.

If the Mayo Clinic doesn't work out for you, Dr. Barry Hendin comes very highly recommended by folks in the know. His office is on 40th St. down near Camelback Rd. though, so probably not in your target area.

Good Luck!

Sorry to hear that Campagnollo is moving on. She is the one who diagnosed me almost 5 years ago.

I can't offer you any recommendations because I moved back to St. Louis to be near family.

Yes Axiom, Dr Volmer was the person I saw the first time I went to Barrows. After that initial visit, I met with the nurse practitioner each visit.
