This Is MS Multiple Sclerosis Community: Knowledge & Support

I am new to the website, diagnosed 6 years ago been on Avonex since day one. Flue like symptoms early on but have lessened over the years, lately just tired & achy the day after the shot. This week my ankles and feet are extremely swollen it has happened before but did not notice if it coincided with the shot.
Anyone else have this?

I have been on Avonex for 8 years and have not had a swelling problem - maybe swelling is associated with the heat.
I have had flu like symptoms over the past year and requested to have a blood test as needed because I was concerned with my white blood cell count and liver enzymes and I wanted my blood tested more than 3X a year.As of last week, I am no longer on Avonex (or any other interferon)
From my experience with an interferon, have your blood tested on a regular basis as this happened to me after 7 years on the med.
