Allodynia-Does anybody have any suggestions for pain relief?

Post by lovebug »

My first major attack of MS approx. one year ago has left me with my both hands to my shoulders with allodynia. I have been on gabapentin, pregabelin, amatriptyline, all kinds of other narcotis like oxycontin with no relief in sight. Help!! Does anybody have any other suggestions. Desperate for any type of pain relief!!!!!

i used to have very sensitive skin just after dx, to the point that i had to have my hair washed for me at a salon, and i had to go out and buy a bunch of lounge wear because i couldn't tolerate my jeans.

i don't know what specifically fixed it, because it slowly resolved over a long time, 6 months or so. lets say 3 months for body, and another 3 for the hands. that was in the first half of 2006.

i had to change my diet and start taking supplements. seems to have turned things around. could be coincidence. certainly with other situations i have noticed far more dramatic improvements (i.e. over a few days) when adding one supplement or another.
