Hey, I'm not diagnosed yet, but my ankles have started to give out ALOT lately, and with my balance being off, it's starting to send me to the ground more often.. I know falling is common with ms, but does anyone know if it is it common to have you ankles give way in ms?

Anyway, is there anyone who has any idea on what type of shoes would be the best to try to help keep this from happening?

whatever is going on if you are falling then it's time to see the doc for a PT referral so you can be evaluated. you may need a cane or walker or some type of bracing for your leg/ankle if there is weakness. a PT can assess your gait pattern and evaluate any weakness you have, which is impossible for us to do over the internet. please make an appointment before you get hurt, falling is a huge danger. :/

I have rolled my ankles about 4 times a year. I have both ankle varus and ankle valgus, because my leg muscles are weak from MS. PT did not correct it. Finally I got Drew shoes. www.drewshoe.com
Expensive, but worth it for me.

Thanks I'll give them a look, they may work to replace my work shoes, seem to have the most problems then because I'm on my feet all day long..

I definitely think that could be happening with me, hopefully soon ill get In it to see a specialist.
I'm sorry about your ankles, it's no fun at all...

Thank you for your thoughts on the shoes, ill Definitely give them a try.

I'm sorta in a similar boat right now, though i have fibromyalgia. Though its not related to balance-issues, I'm afraid I soon won't have use of right foot & terrified. I just posted it on the stem cell section. In case you're wondering why i'm posting on a MS forum, it's because at least this one offered some focused practical info re: stem cells. I haven't seen much anywhere else, because the AMA has fixed it so that each ConvolutedlyNamed Algia or Osis is each wrapped in bubble-wrap within its own bubble.
Compare those divisive bubbles to this:
