Hello everyone. I am presently taking compounded aminopyrdine as Ampyra is not yet approved in Canada. I am taking 7.5 mg twice a day, but recently read a protocol that suggests 4 times per day, in dosages of 5mg up to 10 mg is better (so a max of 40 mg per day)

I am seeing some small benefits, but it wears off in 4-5 hours.

Looking for feedback. Thank you.

I take 10mg 2x per day for a total of 20mg per day. This is what was prescribed as a higher dose increases chance of seizures.

I have been taking this for about 1 year and it does help with my walking. I take it at 8am and again around 3-4pm.

I am trying to start Ampyra to see if the longer release of the approved drug is better. The dose is 10 mg 2x per day also.

Jim

I used to take 3 doses of 10mg. By the end of the day I was usually home, and didn't need the benefit as much, so was fine with it wearing off.

You may want to look at getting 4-AP-3-MeOH compounded. I know someone else on this board is using it already.

This compound is 10 times more potent when compared with 4-AP and other derivatives in restoring axonal conduction.
