Long time no recovery, bad sign?

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Long time no recovery, bad sign?

Post by Tyr616 »

I'm a bit depressed about 4-5montsh ago i lost a lot of sensation in genital area/ bladder. And its slightly been getting worse in both areas especially the bladder. Since its been 4-5months and seems to have some worsening does that mean odds of recovering are bad? :(

Not to give you false hope, but when I first got MS I worked myself to a state where I was numb in those areas. I did get better over time as far as those were concerened once I learned how to live with my MS.

I don't consider that a long time in MS counting. :-) As one example I used IVIg for years and was delighted that after several months I regained sensation and use of my right foot. It had been dead for two years and supposedly hopeless. Never give up, never surrender! Sorry, I just watched Galaxy Quest last night, but it remains a good motto. :-)

edit -- in a very bad period several years ago I asked people to post their positive stories to give me hope. I received an outpouring of amazing things that people had experienced. This disease is unpredictable in every way. As long as we're alive good things can happen. Hang in there and take care of your basic health. :-)
