I was diagnosed with RRMS in 2001. Every so often, something odd happens, & it only happens when I'm sleeping, or at least trying to. The only way I can describe it, is it feels like my brain & eyes are being squeezed and released, sometimes to the point that I feel like I'm gonna black out. It's not painful, but it's very uncomfortable and quite scary. It wakes me up out of sleep. During the part when it feels like everything is being squeezed, it almost feels like I'm frozen, like I can't move, as if I'm being electrocuted. I can also hear some kind of noise in my ears, almost like a buzz sound. This is not the same as when you tilt you head and neck forward & feel your spine vibrate. I have had that during relapses. This is totally different. Has anyone ever experienced this??

It sounds like something similar I experienced during my first relapse but like you it is a feeling that I have trouble putting into words. I do think you need to make sure, although it does not sound like it, that you are not having any seizure activity.

After 15 years with MS I am not suprised to hear about this feeling. Over the years I have had the strangest sensations and sometimes bloody scary. I cannot even begin to put into words how some of them have felt. I will say that they will go as quick as they came never to return again I am sure (thats my experience) Try not to think about it too much and when it happens say what I say 'you little sod...here we go again' and if need be get up, if your in bed and make a nice warm drink or what I do mostly, is choose a couple of words and say them over and over. At the moment I say - peace, harmony and heal. Peace because i am thinking that there is no 'attacking' in my body. I hope this waffle makes sense?
I am about to post something about head pressure! Here we go again!
