We seem to have heard more where intestinal parasites might be the culprit than the reverse??????

The authors suggest several possibilities, including the idea that intestinal parasites may have previously served a protective immune system role in the French West Indies. Researchers are testing the idea that the lack of exposure to such common innocuous agents in industrialized countries may cause the immune system to over-react and cause MS. Dr. Cabre’s team notes that the rate of intestinal parasites dropped from 70% in 1978 in children aged 5 to 15, to 8% in 1994.
