Hello everyone,
I am Gina and was diagnosed with MS in 1999. Except for the troubles that lead to my MS diagnosis, I have done rather well. Until now. I am experiencing terrible dizziness. Pain will start in my shoulder and shoot down my right arm which feels like burning and numbness if that makes sense. My family Dr. put me on Preds 3 different times trying to help. When this pain starts, the dizziness starts. It is really interfering with my being able to function.
Does anyone else have severe dizziness? My Neurologist gave me a couple of Rx, but they are not working and mostly make me feel like a zombie. I so want to get better and it seems that no one can help. Any suggestions anyone? I thank you in advance for answering. I will introduce myself more thoroughly later today. I have to get to work. :-)
Thanks again.
Gina

Hi Gina,
First off, I'm not a medical person, these are just my thoughts.
Dizziness can be a very difficult thing to track down. It may be tied to your ms, but perhaps not. Not trying to scare you, but right shoulder and arm pain along with dizziness can also be a heart issue. I assume your family doc gave you an ekg?
You may also have something as simple as a viral bug.
As you may be aware, there may be a link between ms symptoms and constricted veins in the neck. Have you been checked out for CCSVI? You might want to look over the CCSVI discussions on this site and on other web sites.
Some people have had good luck with these kinds of problems being treated by an Upper Cervical chiropractor. There are lots of web sites discussing this, although upper cervical chiros are few and far between.
Another avenue that might offer relief if conventional medicine doesn't is acupuncture.

Hey Gina H

Check with your doc. to see if they can give you anything for the dizziness.

There is a bone in the neck c2 that can cause fainting spells, and c6 can also cause arm pain, if the very first bone between your skull and the rest off your spine becomes out of line, this bone being called the Atlas it cause many other influences in other areas of the body. it is crucial that the bones in our necks remain in alignment for us to function at our maximum ability. View the following diagram. I would then go to a reputable Chiropractor that specializes in the neck, as not all of them do.If you go to the Chiropractic board on this forum as may help you further.

I hope this helps.

heya gina, this neat symptom checker might help you narrow down what's going on:

also, have you already addressed all the nutrition issues commonly found in ms patients?
