Welcome to ThisIsMS, Steve. To answer your questions… there is no real answer – everyone seems to have different experiences. Some people see NO improvement with steroids; others go into a long remission. At the start, MS is often described as "relapsing-remitting" and many people go in and out of these stages frequently. For others, MS begins and has no let-up.
For many, diet is the best treatment – see http://www.TerryWahls.com
My hypothesis: excess insulin (hyperinsulinemia) plays a major role in MS, as developed in my initial post: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic1878.html "Insulin – Could This Be the Key?"
