Hi guys! I hope everyone is doing well (or as well as can be).
I haven't been in here in ages, but it's good to see some of the old names still posting.

I have been having an issue and would love some of your input or shared experiences.

I've had chronic pain in my hip and butt on one side for years. It flares up 2-3 times per year and usually eases off after a few days. My pirifomis and gluteal muscles are a mess; tight and inflamed, which causes my sciatic nerve to send excruciating referral pains all the way down to my foot. My phnysiotherapist and GP have diangosed me with piriformis syndrome.

Right now I am having a major flare up. It's been bad for 18 days now. I've done two round of physiotherapy, with pressure and release massage on the trigger points. During the massage and stretching I can feel the muscles letting go, but a few hours later, and for days after, the pain increases. My therapist said it shouldn't be worsening, but it is. He also says I should only need one more treatment, but I don't think it's working.

The other strange thing is that the therapist found a trigger spot high up on my butt, almost to the waist on one side. When he presses it I get very strong sciatic pain in that leg - OUCH. He told me I shouldn't be experiencing it from that location - it doesn't make sense.

So now I'm thinking I don't have piriformis syndrome afterall. My neuro told me 2 years ago that I am slightly spastic in the opposite leg, and my spastic bladder muscles have caused some incontinence. I notice that when my hip is bad, my bladder is too.

I'd love to know if anyone has experience with this. Thanks so much!
