My symptoms started when I was pregnant with my Daughter, but the MRI at the time came up with nothing, although the nerve conduction text showed nerve damage. I'm not a doctor person so I put off tests a lot. Now that I know I have it, things are starting to happen it seems like all at once! I had a seizure about four months ago. I'm a nurse, and I KNEW it was a seizure, but I Denial isn't just a river in Egypt, folks. The fact that I knew it when it was happening should have been clue enough, but passing out for 14 hours should have sealed the deal.

Anyway I digress. My daughter was trying to touch her toes last night. I showed her how to do it, and I was dizzy for five hours. What is THIS?! It's bad enough my legs itch and burn like crazy, my favorite activity- Exercise- (Zumba in particular) aren't possible some days lately, not to mention the bright red patches that my torso gets if I work out enthusiastically. It's bad enough I'm exhausted, I don't want my husband any where near me (my you know what drive is completely gone) My vision has numerous floaters and it's hard to see at night, it's even horrible my limbs jerk now for no reason at various parts of the day. Of course there's more, but I'll stop with my pity party for awhile on that.

The dizziness is new, and I'm beyond scared this means that I can't even do something that simple any more. Any one else experience this? Not the dizziness- I do get some flashes here and there- b ut this was in particular brought on by touching my toes and I had a nasty headache, too. Thanks for listening if you got this far!!!

Can you make yourself dizzy by tilting your head in different directions while you sit? Sometimes we get little bits in our inner ears that make us dizzy when they move around. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =103463398 I've had it happen once and it dissolved in a week or so.

audrina (Jen) – Since your MS symptoms started when you were pregnant, I wonder if you developed gestational diabetes during pregnancy. As a nurse, you know that a pregnant woman produces excess insulin in order to put weight on the fetus. My suspicion is that excess insulin is responsible for many MS symptoms. Excess insulin is as damaging, if not more so, than excess glucose (diabetes).

I wonder if the seizure you had four months ago could have been due to Insulin Shock (a.k.a. hyperinsulinemia, a.k.a. hypoglycemia); common symptoms include pallor, weakness, pounding heartbeat, chills/sweating, drooling.

I attribute the burning sensation in my legs to the caustic excess insulin in my blood vessels that I know I have. It would be interesting to know the result of a "fasting blood insulin test," if you were to request one.

My hypothesis: excess insulin (hyperinsulinemia) plays a major role in MS, as developed in my initial post: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic1878.html "Insulin – Could This Be the Key?"
