optic neuritis twice, what next?

Hi all
I had complete loss of vision in my left eye, like I had a dark grey cloud over it,with terrible eye ache behind the sockets. A few hours later it resolved itself. I'm still having eye discomfort and some slight bluriness. My optition suspected ON and said my left eye was a lot worse than my right. She said she'll right to my G.p. well he referred to an eye clinic and once arrived he done less than my optician! And didn't make any recommendations ? I have a lot of m.s symptoms but am undiagnosed and am awaiting my latest MRI report, due next week. How do I get a VEP evoked potential test done? As my G.P hasn't made this referral? I'm in the uk. Not sure whereabouts you are in the uk but if near London walk into emergency moorfields or western eye. There must be walk in equivalents round the country. Say you are in a lot of pain with vision loss.
