breastfeeding and copoxone

Post by rpresley »

Hi I was diagnosed in October 2012. When I found out I was pregnant when I was told I might never become pregnant. I went off medication. Now I am breastfeeding my 7 week old and the doctor thinks it will be to long to be off medication. I am due to start copoxone and when I ask the safety I was told no studies have been done. I am wondering if others have had a similar story. I am really concerned but I don't want to stop breastfeeding. I have read that it is believed to be to large of a molecule to be passed but also read that some reported baby's itched after breastfeeding moms took medication and then breastfeed. Please help if you have any advice.

Thanks,
A concerned mother

You should probably seek advise only from your neurologist and Shared Solutions.
