It got me thinking about whether MS was a global disease of the CNS rather than a focal disease based on lesions etc. I e-mailed one of my neuros who responded -
I'm not sure what this means in terms of current / future treatments, but it accords with several other pieces of research that have come out recently i.e that grey matter is affected in addition to white matter. It also begs the question of why more research is not focused on the blood brain barrier / vascular aspects of the disease.You are correct that MS is a generalized disease.
