Another post reminded me of the statement on Alan Osmand's web site of up and coming info on sf1019, so I went back to check it out, only to be disappointed.
hmmm... looks like he lost track of time.

This is Alan Osmond.

I am one of the “original” members of The Osmond Family, the eldest of The Osmond Brothers group that has been performing since 1957 (50 Years!), The Leader of The Osmonds that caused "Osmondmania" around the world, the writer of many of the 39 Gold and Platinum Osmond hit records and songs, a TV Producer of The Donny & Marie TV Series and other Osmond Specials, President of Osmond Studios and Osmond Foundation that became known as: The Children's Miracle Network, A Video Producer/Director, a Live Event Producer with the creation of “Stadium of Fire" and other Live Events for 28 years, and a co-producer of happenings like Ronald Reagan's Inaugural Opening Ceremony, the Founder of Osmond Network and charity, One Heart Foundation and TheFamily.com for “Strengthening Families". But, most importantly, the Father of eight (8) Sons and 14 grandkids, and most of all, a Husband to my beautiful wife, Suzanne.

My life has been tested, blessed, and made stronger because of all of these opportunities and trials in my life! But, nothing was harder and more threatening to me and my life than when I became disabled with the crippling disease doctors finally believed was Multiple Sclerosis!

I noticed 20 years ago that my fingers would NOT play the trumpet, the banjo, the guitar, the piano, the bass and saxophone as I used to ... and that I would trip & fall, lose my karate skills, dancing, and athletic sports as the whole right side of my body, my mind and senses, my immune system and my career because of this crippling disease! No one in my family has ever had this!

Yet, having been taught of “Goodly Parents" and raised with a positive mental attitude and a “You Can Do It" style with a religion that taught good health and eating principles and a way of Life that helped me deal with life's challenges and the future, together with the love of my wife and family and my faith in God,... I never gave up!

I went to all kinds of doctors around the country and world and had every kind of test you can imagine, with treatments and helps to deal with my weakening body. Without losing hope and with constant prayer, I was led to a group of people called Argyll that had a trial treatment, which I agreed to and signed off to try, that was an answer to my prayers! Yes, HELP was on the way!

After my first injection, I felt within minutes a strong and positive feeling that started connecting my hands, fingers, legs, toes, and even my mind that had been slipping! I agreed to keep following their doctors. I have suffered with Primary Progressive M.S. for 20 years. This treatment has stopped that progression and it has improved my symptoms. I have even regained my sense of smell. My quality of life is improving.

If you follow the link it leads to the Argyll Biotechnologies Website and it makes the point that the product is still called SF1019 and that Immunosyn is a company which has an exclusive license to market it

SF-1019 is the platform technology of Argyll Biotechnologies. It was developed from extensive research into Biological Response Modifiers (BRMs) undertaken at: Mississippi State University; St George's, University of London (formerly St George's Hospital Medical School); Ohio University; and Methodist Hospital. The first group of BRMs was designated as Immune Cell Potentiating Factors (ICPF) and has been extensively evaluated in a number of veterinary treatments, including animal studies relating to human disease. This collaborative approach brought the thorough and unbiased scrutiny of the scientific and medical community upon the related research and particularly SF-1019. In our opinion, these data collectively support the conclusion that SF-1019, as a BRM, may point the way for the future development and refinement of many promising innovative and cutting-edge therapeutics.

SF-1019 is believed to be one of a new class of therapeutics made from mammalian cells. As an isolated compound, SF-1019 is comprised of low molecular weight lipo-peptides. Pre-clinical human studies and clinical trials in animals have shown SF-1019 to provide therapeutic benefits without toxic or pyrogenic (fever-causing) effects at therapeutically effective dosages. In animal studies, once injected subcutaneously, SF-1019 produces an immunomodulatory cascade, which generates a prophylactic and/or therapeutic benefit. In pre-clinical human studies, it appears to create a therapeutic affective response over a range of demyelinating conditions of the peripheral nervous system (PNS) resulting in rapid reduction of symptoms. A major benefit of SF-1019 is its perceived ability to simultaneously target, activate and support the modulation of both the innate and adaptive immune systems, having a dramatic effect on many neurological and demyelinating conditions. Research suggests the current product has additional developmental potential as it also possesses analgesic properties with an ability to substantially reduce the inflammation attending a number of clinical conditions including Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Chronic Immune Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome, (RSD or RSDS) and other auto-immune and neurological disorders.

Patent applications containing claims to Argyll’s proprietary biological response modifier SF-1019 have been filed in selected countries around the world. Those applications have been receiving favorable review with one or more patents expected to issue in 2007. Additional patents are expected soon thereafter.

Argyll Biotechnologies has initiated the approval process in several countries and preparations for clinical trials in humans are underway in both the US and Europe with plans to develop a series of new products from Argyll Biotechnologies’ proprietary platform technology and other licensed techniques. These trials are the first of a planned new SF-1019 based product series designed to treat or improve the quality of life and the clinical management of a number of auto-immune and neurological disorders and other human diseases. MS would be a very different illness if it occured in the PNS. One cannot extrapolate that an effect in the PNS will have any benefit in the CNS. Am I not reading this right? Ken
