Tapering off Baclofen question

Post by 3dognight »

I have been taking oral Baclofen for almost 3 years. Started at around 30mg a day then last summer increased to 80mg during a relapse. I didn't think it did much at 30mg, so why I went up to 80mg, well I just don't know because I really do not believe it is helping anything. In the last month or so I've flucuated between 60 to 80 as sometimes I just forget to take it. So I want to taper off but have read horror stories about what happens if you do it too quickly.

Does anyone have any experience tapering off Baclofen?

Thanks,
Peggy

I once went from taking 60mg per day to zero. This was before I heard about any problems with stopping quick. It was terrible, couldn't figure out how I got so bad so fast. Until I realized it was related to stopping the Baclofen suddenly.

Stop slowly, maybe by 10 mg at a time and staying several days at each lower level
