If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

IV Steroid Therapy...what can I expect?

Post by Sarah14 »

We have a home-care nurse coming to the house tomorrow to begin IV steroid therapy on my husband.

What can I expect from this? Aside from the obvious, i.e., he'll be hooked up to an IV, what sort of side effects will he experience? And in a broader sense, what sort of impact will this have, in the various areas of his life over the next week. And what about long-term? Is there anyone out there who has had personal experience with this? What was your experience...if you don't mind my asking.

And thanks in advance! :)

It all depends on the steroid...I was on solumedral and did fine w/ it ffor a while...it was good mentally & physically until my body created antibodies to thwart its efficacy. Others on TIMS have had bad reactions to it,... what ms comes down to is that it is a very personal experience as well as a communal.....
