If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

possitive ANA. Lupus?

Post by tara97 »

I am still in diagnositic limbo but we are getting closer. I had a possitive ANA. this is consitant with someone with Lupus. problem is I have had neuropathy for years and I know I have always given normal blood tests. I had an MS panel 4 years ago and my question is, Is an ANA generally included on the blood tests with an MS panel. I am just trying to separate the yoke from the egg here. I trying to find out if my neuropathy has a separate pathological identity than what has given me a possitive ANA now.

How positive is your ANA? Mine was just postive and speckled or something! They felt that this was a red herring in my case.

I also had positive ANA but I can't remember it being part of the batch of tests for MS diagnosis, I was tested for ANA following a number of miscarriages.
Either way I asked my Neuro about ANA+ and they said it can be + sometimes and they didn't focus on it......
