Hi,
This is my first introduction and I'm a newbee to these type of forum.
I won't bore anyone but would like to hear others' experiences with prednisone for relapse.
Today I took my first (and last) 600mg dose of (oral) Pred for my relapse.
It did nothing. I took it 6hrs ago and will not continue the 3 day course as per neuro and pharmacist because no improvement.
I would love to hear that this is not unusual :-)[/i]

Herdie,
My experience was similar, it took about 4 weeks for my vision to start returning to near-normal and I don't know if the recovery was due to the Pred or not. I didn't mind the side effects (tons of energy) so I don't regret finishing the oral prescription.
Welcome to our forum and don't ever feel like you're boring anyone. I come here for the information but also to read about what others are going through with MS.
Kara

Herdie,

First of all I hope you find this forum as helpful as I have, but sorry you have to be here :(

Second of all, I have been on Oral steroids 3 times since my diagnosis in 2009 and am pretty confident that my full recovery from each relapse was attributed to the prednisone. I on the other hand was on 1250mg(25 pills) every second day for 10 days. It doesn't by any means work over night though :( I too, like Karazhan didn't see significant recovery for about a month, but I did notice slight improvements everyday. Good luck to you! Again like Karazhan said don't ever feel you are boring anyone here....I have found the more detail you can give the better! Take care!
