Greetings!
First I want to say how deeply touched and amazed I am at such a wonderfully caring, organized and informative website. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
In 2002 my fiance was diagnosed with MS. He was 23 at the time. Since then we have been dealing with the hardships that have accompanied this illness. In the years that have followed his diagnosis he seems to be on the fast track to disability- at least thats what his doctors say. He has had two attacks of optic neuritis, one in each eye and never healed from them. He can not drive anymore which breaks his heart. His balance and memory in the last 5 months has been worsening to the point that he doesnt want to go out in public anymore because he is embarrassed. He is depressed, I am depressed. Our relationship has changed drastically and I am now his caretaker more then I am his lover. I am so scared for our future. And I just need some advice on how to make our situation better? How do other couples do it? How do I cheer him and myself up? How do I hold on to something that seems lost? All advice is much needed and welcomed. [/b]

A warm hello to you Lisa and your fiance !!

Or.. did you guys ever get married?? Let me tell you about being a caretaker.. !?! My husband of only 2 years is disabled and now has to live with his parents. Im the one who has MS. He has a lifetime of seizures and 5 years ago had the worse seizure of his life that lasted 1 hour !! He lost his ability to make and keep memories. He lost his short term memory. Still.. we got married and then he forgot this and all his feelings. We're separated now. Its a long story.

I know of the depression too. But now Ive decided to take charge of my life and re-evaluated my health. Im not on any MS meds. Ive changed the way I eat and what I eat: no diary, sugar, red meat and try to eat organic only. Im doing a cleanse of the colon and liver to get out all the toxics.. including from RX meds !!

I feel there WILL be breakthroughs for this disease and others. Im convinced its NOT with the meds but healthier alternatives. But.. thats MY opinion ok?

I'll offer you understanding and will listen from the heart.

Warmly Jan in limboland
