Hello everyone.
I have just newly been diagnosed with MS and to be perfectly honest i have no idea how i feel about it all?
it all started very recently, end of October, when i awoke with a numb foot, almost like a pins and needles feeling, but it also felt very cold, i put it down to lying funny in bed causing a dead foot of sorts, this continued for a few days before my other foot started to feel the same way.
Next the tips of fingers(small finger, ring finger and middle finger, of both my hands got pins and needles .
Then the head of my penis and anus region went numb, which freaked me out, so i went to the doctor who after checking me out sent me to Addenbrookes hospital in Cambridge the following day to get further tests.
I have to admit my head was all over the place, it still is ,anyway after a scan of my lower spine, numerous blood test, and electrical type test on my hands and feet and a lumber puncture i was still in the dark as to what was going on and the hospital said it could be one or two different things,Guillain– Barré being one of the options. No-one mentioned MS.
I went home and was to report any further changes.
Well my mouth started to feel funny, almost like the feeling after the anasetic starts to wear off from the dentists, and my voice started to sound hoarse and my throat slightly swollen feeling.
Not only that but around my mid-drift,just at the bottom of my rib cage extending around to my back, there as a strange shimmering, tingling feeling.
Again i was admited to hospital and further scans were taken of my upper spine and also further blood test and another lumber puncture.
This time i was told that it was almost 100% MS as there was further damage to the nerves around my neck area, protiens in my spinal fluid and something else which i really can't remember.
I was prescribed a 5 day course of steroids which did help to take away the intensity of the feelings in my feet.
I am awaiting further scans,of the brain, and then i will hopefully know the full extent of what is actually going on.
Sorry if i seem a bit vague about it all but i am really having a hard time taking it all in and my emotions are all over the place,to say the least!
Anyway as it stands i still have the numb, cold feeling feet,my lower legs feel very strange,my fingers are still tingling and my throat and voice is still the same.
The numbness of my penis and anus has gone though!
I have noticed that when i bend forward i get the shimmering/tingling feeling down my legs.
A big concern of mine is my throat and voice, mainly because i am a singer and i really dread to think what i will do if i lose that part of me!!
So that is my story / ramblings and i appreciate you taking the time to read through it and would welcome any advice!

You might consider the Swank diet. It has shown success in treating MS.
