Do you think this is MS?

Post by grandma123 »

Hi! I am new here.

Yesterday I had a cervial MRI to rule out (or in) MS or similar neurolgical conditions.

My symptoms are numbness, tingling in hands and feet and some burning in feet. It is intermittent. But it started on March 8th the day after I had PT for neck and back pain. One day nothing, the next day this. From 0-10.

I am under the care of a physiatrist now but will probably seek a second opinion from a neurologist based on these test results.

I am a 61 year old female. I am not diabetic. My B12 levels are normal and my hypothroidism is under control. I have many back problems for which I have been seeking treatment for years.

My mother had a first cousin (on her mother's side) who got MS at age 26 after giving birth to her only child.

Does this sound like MS?

Thanks.

It sounds like it *could* be MS, but it could quite easily be a 'mechanical' problem in your spine. If your PT involved manipulating your neck it could even have been the trigger (the 8 days makes it unlikely to be the direct cause). Have you seen your back doctor?
