Newbie here!
Newbie here!
Hi boys & girls, I'm Josh. I'm a 27 year old feller from a tiny little town in central Illinos. I was diagnosed with MS in Jan. of '06 when I had optic neuritus in my right eye. Thinking back, I've had several numb spots on my legs and back leading up to the big O. N. I started out with a horrid neuro in Bloomington IL. I ended up going up to the University of Chicago and getting in the 20/40 Copaxone trial up there. I'm just into my 4th month of Copaxone and things seem to be going well. No new relapses, but I'm still dealing with the O. N. in my left eye. Anyway, I'm happy to be here. I'm sure I'll make all the stupid mistakes that newbies always make, but hopefully I'll eventually fit in!
Welcome Josh,
Don't worry about newbie mistakes, there aren't any judgemental types here that I've seen.
I have two sons, 24 & 26. I hope and pray they never get MS, but if they do, at least there are better treatments today.
I hope you do well with the Copaxone. It has a long track record and a good safety profile. My doctor (an MS specialist) mentioned double Copaxone to me awhile back, and even offered to RX it for me before the trial.
I hope it turns out to be a great treatment and you got the higher dose.

Take care, Ewizabeth Previously Avonex, Rebif & Copaxone RRMS ~Tysabri, 31 infusions, ended 9/09. Starting Copaxone 12/09, waiting for Cladribine to be approved in 2010.

Hi Josh,
I'm absolutely TERRIBLE for rarely looking at, and never contributing to, this particular board
, So I'd like to try and put that right by welcoming you and everyone else to the gang .Although some of us drone on and on endlessly about the technicalities of this disease, (that'll be me, then), and research, everyone is more than happy to try and help with the emotional issues, personal problems, and just understanding all this jargon. Whatever you're going through, you're sure to find someone here who knows exactly what you're battling against and can offer support and understanding.
As for mistakes, go right ahead! I think we've probably all got enough on our plates, so we don't get caught up in a lot of nit-picking,
