I read in here about the effects of Tumeric/Curcumioids.
The brand a friend of my picked up for me is

Bluebonnet Tumeric Root Extract with 95% Curcuminoids 1500mg total.

Has anyone heard of this or tried it? Im willing to try it but wanted to get some more opinions on it and find out of this is the correct type.

Thank you so much for your help....

Hi tt89,
The natural absorption of curcumin is quite low. However, several products contain a black pepper extract known as piperine to increase curcumin's absorption. The commercial name for this extract is Bioperine. If I remember correctly, there as some members of the forum which are taking Bioperine as a stand alone product so if your curcumin doesn't contain it, then you may be able to get it as a separate supplement. Another option is to purchase a turmeric extract which already contains piperine.

If you take curcumin with hot spicy foods especially if they already contain turmeric (curcumin spice) and/or take it with choline you increase remarkably it's absorption probably higher than with bioperine.
"Life extension" uses a patent that increases 5-6 times it's absorption but have read in some cancer related forums it hasn't the same effectiveness as the simple curcumin extract we all use at least in cancer patients.
