Fucoxanthin: anti-inflammatory seaweed extract

Post by Anonymoose »

Lyndacarol has previously posted on fucoxanthin's metabolic influence but I didn't see anything here about its immunomodulating effects. Looks like it might be good for pwms. Has anyone tried it?

A marine carotenoid, fucoxanthin, induces regulatory T cells and inhibits Th17 cell differentiation in vitro. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/21979096/

Fucoxanthin inhibits the inflammatory response by suppressing the activation of NF-κB and MAPKs in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages

Health magazine article discussing variety of effects of fluco (I've seen some supported in papers so its not completely bogus) in plain English.

That's all I had on my phone browser. I'll post more if I find it. :)
