Benefit seen with interferon lasts into progressive MS

Patients with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) who took interferon-beta-1b for two years in a randomized trial continued to show improvement relative five years later, Spanish researchers said.

Knots after injection

I get a lot of "knots" after I inject. I take Ibuprofen an hour before I inject, I use the Betaject and I massage the area right after, but I get these knots that last sometimes for many days. And they can be quite painful as well. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Betaseron overseas?

Has anyone living in the US ever had to order Betaseron while traveling overseas? If so, how did you get it in another country? Is it cheaper in Europe? I called Betaseron and they said they only thing to do would be to have it shipped to someone in the US and they can personally ship it to wherever I am overseas, but I don't want to ask someone to take the responsibility for $4K ...

The clinical trial, conducted in the late 1980s, involved the biotech drug interferon beta-1b – an injectable protein that in 1993 became the first pharmaceutical approved ...

Post-injection pain?

I am still working my way through all my injection sites, and the last 8 of 10 injections have caused what feels like my muscle to be very sore at the injection site. It starts about 6 hours or so after the shot - i wake up in the night to find it hurts pretty bad. It has lasted anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days.
